Blue Dragon raconte les aventures de Shû, un jeune garçon issu d’une lignée de guerriers légendaires. Il découvre un jour qu’il possède une ombre qui peut se transformer en un dragon bleu géant. Il rencontre alors une fille, Zola, qui recherche d’autres descendants, comme lui, de ces Guerriers de la Lumière. Avec d’autres individus qu’ils vont croiser, ils tenteront de percer le secret de cette légende des Blue Dragon...
